Vijayanagara: The Congress Legislature Party’s first list of candidates for the 2023 Assembly polls is expected to be announced by this month, said opposition leader Siddaramaiah on Tuesday January 3.
Speaking to mediapersons during the Malavi reservoir, which is filling for the first time in 13 years, that there is a wave in favour of the Congress party in the State and for that reason the number of ticket aspirants is high.
The Congress has received 1,350 applications, for tickets to the 2023 Assembly elections. In response to the question of whether Janardhana Reddy’s new party Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha will assist the Congress by stealing BJP votes, he said, “We will win the polls on our strength. In the past, S. Bangarappa, B. S. Yediyurappa and Sriramulu had floated new parties. You all are aware of what happened. I am not belittling them, but it is the people who will decide.”
