Vijayanagara: A rare European vulture, which was found in the hands of school children in Ranipete in the City last month, has been set free into the wild.
In December last year, hobby photographer Shivshankar Banagar had rescued the Eurasian Griffon species from the hands of children and handed it over to the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Zoological Park at Kamalapura in the District.
Dr Vani, a veterinary doctor at the zoo, had treated the bird in a critical condition and thus the bird has recovered.
After the Veterinary Doctor’s nod, the bird lovers freed the recovered bird from the cage from top of a hill in Ingaligi Village in the Taluk.
