Vijayanagara: ‘Teachers play prime role in shaping students’ lives’

Vijayanagara: MLC Shasheel G. Namoshi said that teachers are the only ones who have the most important role to play in shaping the lives of students.

He was speaking as the Chief Guest at the swearing-in ceremony of the new office-bearers organised by the Karnataka State High School Associate Teachers’ Association and Taluk Unit at Hiremath Vidyapeetha High School in the Town. He said that no matter how many problems the teachers may have personally, they should forget them and play an important role in improving the present level of education by maintaining the sanctity of education.

“After home, children spend the most time in school, he said and added that it is the foremost duty of every teacher to impart moral education along with academic education.

He said that children should be educated and a good rapport should be maintained with them. I have already convinced the Chief Minister about the issues related to promotion. He said that he would sanction Rs. 5 lakh for the development of Hiremath High School.

MLA N. Y. Gopalakrishna inaugurating the programme, said, “After coming to this field, I have released a lot of funds to the education sector. Around 450 school rooms have been constructed and a grant of Rs 1.40 Crore has been released for the construction of the centre for educational activity. He said that the education sector has been developed by allocating Rs. 25 Crore, which has been used for holistic education in the taluk.
