Yadgir: On 66th Dhamma Chakra Pravartana Din over 300 people of 127 families of Dalit Community accepted Buddhism at Shorapur Town of the District on Friday October 14.
Golden Cave Buddha Vihar Trust organised the event. The Trust President Venkatesh Hosmani and his two sons took deeksha.
After taking deeksha Venkatesh Hosamani said, “the discrimination of caste and exploitation of the Dalit forced us to convert to Buddhism,” he said.
Formalities of deeksha was performed by Golden Cave Bhuddha Vihar Honarary President Pujya Varajyothi Bhanteji. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s Granddaughter Ayushmati Ramatayi Ambedkar was present at the event.
