In response to heavy rains and landslides affecting various parts of Karnataka, particularly in the Coastal and Malnad regions, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed all Deputy Commissioners to remain on high alert and implement necessary precautionary measures to prevent disasters.

The CM has instructed officials to closely monitor water inflows and levels in all reservoirs and to relocate residents from low-lying, flood-prone areas to safer locations. Additionally, 24X7 control rooms are being set up in every district to ensure continuous monitoring and response.

In light of the severe weather, Bengaluru-Wayanad via Gundlupet National Highway 766 has been temporarily closed as a precaution. However, an alternative route via Gundlupet-Bandipur-Gudalur remains open for vehicle owners.

To assist with rescue operations in Wayanad, Kerala, heavy earth movers are being dispatched. Mysuru district has prepared K R Hospital and HD Kote to receive injured individuals from Wayanad, with transportation arrangements in place to facilitate the transfer of patients.

Furthermore, a helpline has been established in Mysuru district to support affected individuals: 0821-24223800.
