In the midst of the ongoing honey trap scandal, Karnataka’s Home Minister, G Parameshwara, confirmed on Tuesday that no formal complaints had been submitted regarding the incident. “At this point, there has been no complaint lodged,” Parameshwara told news agency ANI.

Addressing the issue of phone surveillance, Parameshwara clarified that he had consulted with the relevant authorities, but no complaints had surfaced. “As of now, no one has come forward with a complaint. Opposition leader R. Ashoka has made statements, but I’ve confirmed with the concerned department that no report has been filed,” he explained.

Responding to remarks made by Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, about the Constitution, Parameshwara noted that Shivakumar had already clarified that his comments had been misrepresented.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Minister KN Rajanna, who recently claimed to be a target of a honey trap, stated that he would personally file a complaint with the Home Minister.

In related developments, the Supreme Court has agreed to review a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) requesting an independent investigation into the alleged honey trapping of public figures, including legislators, judges, and officials in the state. The petition, filed by Binay Kumar Singh from Jharkhand, calls for a probe by the CBI or a Special Investigation Team (SIT), free from Karnataka’s influence.

Previously, Minister KN Rajanna had revealed that 48 individuals, including state and national leaders, had reportedly fallen victim to honey traps, with explicit videos circulating online.
