Kolar : In a devastating incident on Tuesday night, miscreants set fire to Mohanakrishna’s chicken farm near Nernahalli village of the taluk, causing the death of approximately 9 thousand chickens and incurring a loss of around ₹15 lakh. The fire broke out at around 11.40 pm and it is believed that the perpetrators approached from behind the farm to start the blaze.
At the time of the incident, North Indian laborers were present at the farm and fled in panic. Fortunately, with assistance from villagers and city fire brigade personnel who arrived on site later on managed to extinguish the flames.
The shocking event sparked outrage among hundreds of Mohanakrishna’s supporters who gathered during a nighttime demonstration. Despite expressing anger over this heinous act, Mohanakrishna reassured that he will take necessary action against those responsible.
Though suspicion points toward political tensions regarding Ramsagar Gram Panchayat as a possible motive for this attack, no specific individuals have been named in connection with it. Law enforcement officials including Betamangala Circle Inspector Rangashamayya and Sub-Inspector Gururaj Chintakala are investigating this case with support from dog squad units and forensic experts who have visited the scene for further examination.
