Vijayanagara: A youth faces legal action for sharing a video expressing support for Palestine amid the Israel-Palestine conflict. The accused, identified as 20-year-old Alam Basha, posted a controversial video on social media, showing solidarity with Palestine.
A case has been filed against him under CrPC sections 108 and 151 after a complaint by PSI Munirathna of Hospet Town Police Station. As a result, authorities have taken him into custody. While India has officially declared support for Israel in the ongoing conflict, Alam Basha used social media to convey his backing for Palestine and Hamas, contrary to India’s stance.
Alam Basha’s social media activity included sharing an image of the war-torn Palestinian territory as his WhatsApp status and posting a video advocating for Palestine, accompanied by the phrase ‘Palestine Zindabad.’ He resided in Siddalingappa Chowki, Hospet, and worked as an attendant in the Minorities Department office.
