Raichur: The 1st Additional District and Sessions POSCO Special Court has handed down a life imprisonment sentence to Mallikarjuna Muninayak of Ashapur village, in connection with a 2019 sexual assault case. In addition to the life sentence, Muninayak has been fined ₹1 lakh.
The case involves the sexual assault of a minor girl at the women’s police station in Raichur city. Following the filing of a complaint by the girl’s mother, an investigation was conducted by Police Inspector Mallikarjuna Ikkalakki, leading to the preparation and submission of a charge sheet against the accused.
Special Public Prosecutor M. Manjunath represented the government in the case, presenting arguments that contributed to the conviction. Judge Prabhu Hatthika’s verdict ensures justice for the survivor and her family, and aims to serve as a strong deterrent to potential offenders.
This sentencing marks a significant development in the pursuit of justice and highlights the judicial system’s commitment to addressing serious crimes effectively.
