In a major crackdown, Lokayukta sleuths raided properties linked to eight government officers across Karnataka on Thursday. These officers are accused of amassing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. The raids were conducted in several districts, including Bengaluru, Kolar, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Davangere, and Bagalkote.

Officers Targeted in the Raids

The following officers were among those raided:

  • T.D. Nanjundappa, Chief Engineer-Group A in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Bengaluru)
  • H.B. Kaleshappa, Executive Engineer Grade-1, Quality Control and Assurance, Highway Engineering, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)
  • G. Nagraj, Assistant Executive Engineer (Kolar)
  • Jagannath, Project Implementation Unit (Kalaburagi)
  • G.S. Nagaraju, District Statistical Officer, Food Safety and Quality Unit, Health Department (Davangere)
  • Dr. P. Jagadish, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Tavarkere Primary Health Centre (Tumakuru)
  • Malappa Sabanna Durgada, First Division Assistant (FDA), Panchayat Raj Engineering Department (Bagalkote)
  • Shivananda Shiva Shankar Kembhavi, FDA, Housing Board (Vijayapura)

The raids come amid growing concerns over corruption within government departments and are part of ongoing efforts to investigate officials allegedly involved in illicit accumulation of wealth.
