Chikkamagaluru: District Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Leaders staged a protest at Azad Park in Chikkamagaluru against the anticipatory bail granted to BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa.
Party District President M S. Hemanth Kumar said it was unfortunate that around Rs 8 Crore was seized from the house of the BJP MLA and he was given anticipatory bail within a few days.
He demanded that MLA Virupakshappa, who is steeped in corruption, should be taken into custody immediately.
The Central Government has misused the agency of the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to arrest AAP Leader Sisodia even though there are no serious charges against him. But to what extent is it correct to grant bail even though crores of rupees belonging to MLA Virupakshappa were found during the investigation in the State, he questioned.
“Knowing that Sisodia will face trouble in the upcoming Assembly elections in the State, the Centre and the State Government are playing with such Government agencies. AAP leaders who have not been accused should be released. He demanded the arrest of BJP MLA Virupakshappa.
