Chikkamagaluru: The family of Rakshitha, a girl who died here on Thursday September 22 after being declared brain dead following a fall from a moving bus on Wednesday September 21, donated her organs.
Total nine organs of Rakshitha have been donated with the permission of her family members in the District. The organs have been sent to Bengaluru through helicopter. Her heart is donated to a patient at Bengaluru’s Manipal Hospital.
The girl hails from Somanahalli’s Tandya of Kadur Taluk. She suffered a severe head injury after falling from moving bus and she was declared brain dead by doctors. Rakshitha’s parents Laskhmibai and Suresh permitted to donate her organs.
Rakshitha was studying at Government PU College of Basavanahalli.
