Chikkamagaluru: Former MLA Y. S. V. Datta has officially announced that he will be joining the Congress Party at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Office in Bengaluru on the day of Makara Sankranti.

Speaking to mediapersons at his residence at Yagati Village in the Taluk, he said that he had received a call from the Congress High Command two days ago and they had asked him to join the Party on January 15. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar was present at the KPCC office in Bengaluru. “I will join the party in the presence of Shivakumar and Leader and Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

In February, my followers and workers will join the Congress Party at a function in Kadur. I have been in the same party for fifty years. Now I am inevitably joining the Congress,” he said.
