Chikkamagaluru: In a shocking incident, a woman was mentally and physically abused for the past three years after she met a youth on social media.
It has been reported that a youth of Koppa in the District introduced himself to girl from the same Village on social media. It is reported that the girl was studying in a private college in Karkala and Mohammed Rauf, a youth from Koppa, came to Karkala along with his friends and invited the girl for lunch. The girl aleged that on his way to the hotel, he offered her juice to drink and misbehaved with her, recording a video of her with him and further alleging that he forced her to come with him repeatedly using blackmailing tactics.
When she refused to do so, his friend threatened to post the video on social media and behaved rudely with her for the past three years. The victim has also lodged a complaint with the police alleging that they threatened her saying that if she doesn’t do as told by them, they threatened to post videos on social media, brandished knives, forced her to drink intoxicants and throw acid on her.
The girl, who lodged a complaint against four persons including Mohammed Rauf, Irfan, Saif and another person from Koppa at Harihara Police Station, alleged that Mohammed Rauf was forcibly making her drink the juice with intoxicants and blackmailing her by tying a mangalasutra.
