Chikkamagaluru: A team of Income Tax officials raided the residence of Congress Leader and Former MLC Gayathri Shantegowda in Chikkamagaluru.
The raids were conducted at her residence on Market Road in Chikkamagaluru City and the residence of her son-in-law on Belur Road. A team of Income Tax Department officials, who arrived in more than 10 vehicles checked the documents.
The Income Tax departyment Officials have come under the guise of a marriage party to raid the house of Gayathri Shanthegowda, who lives in a house on Market Road in the City. The wedding board was put up in front of the car so that no one could suspect.
Former MLC Gayathri Shantegowda is an aspirant for a Congress ticket in the upcoming Assembly elections. The Congress has alleged that the BJP had hatched a conspiracy to conduct raids by Income Tax Officials in the run-up to the elections.
