Chikkamagaluru: MLA C.T. Ravi has said that a full-time priest will be appointed in the coming days to remove the hurdles regarding the appointment of full-time priests to Dattapeetha.

Speaking to mediapersons after having darshan of Dattapaduke at Sri Guru Dattatreya Peetham in the District on Thursday December 8, he said that the State Government has fulfilled the decades-old demand of Dattapaduke devotees to perform Dattapaduke pooja by Hindu priests as per the court’s order. In the coming days, the hurdles will be removed and a full-time priest will be appointed.

Dattapeetha has a history of thousands of years and is mentioned in the Puranas. He said that the work of reviving the Dattapeetha will be done in the coming days on the lines of the development of Kashi corridor and Somnath Temple.

The time has now come for the revival of Dattapeetha and work will be done to fulfil the wishes of the devotees. Dattapeetha is different and the Dargah is different and the Dargah is located in Survey No. 57 of Naganahalli. He said the case was sub-judice and Siddaramaih had hurt the sentiments of Hindus by submitting an affidavit to the court during the tenure of Siddaramaiah Government to resolve the issue.
