Chikkamagaluru: The road at Neralakodi in Sringeri was damaged by the heavy rains, which has affected the connectivity between Sringeri and Agumbe.
A side section of the road has collapsed, forming a trench that is 100 feet deep. This route has been closed off to traffic.
Heavy rain has been lashing the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi for the past few days, flooding low-lying regions and disrupting normal life.
