Chikkamagaluru: The villagers of Singagara in Koppa Taluk, who had threatened to boycott the upcoming Assembly elections a week ago, have now put up banners to express their anger.

This is the banner of the first election boycott in the region and they have also resigned from the posts of political party responsibilities, cutting across party lines.

The villagers, who had been demanding basic amenities, a bridge and a road to the village, put up banners boycotting the elections as they did not come forward to construct the road despite the deadline. Despite being threatened with resignation, the agitation was intensified as no solution was found.

Several BJP, Congress and Booth Committee workers have resigned from their posts.
