Chikkamagaluru: Dattamala Abhiyan of the Sri Ram Sene will be held between November 12 to 20 and this year, over 50 ‘naga sadhus’ will be participating in the event from four ‘Akhadas’ of North India.
Over 5,000 people are expected to take part in the ‘shobha yathra’ to be held as part of the Abhiyan, said Sene Chief Pramodh Muthalik, stressing that the government must take steps to hand over Dattapeeth to the Hindus and also relocate the place of worship of the Muslims to Nagenahalli.
He further said that the district administration must make sure that ‘namaz’ is not held during the Abhiyan atop the hill, failing which, if any untoward incidents occur then the administration will be held responsible.
Every year, the Sene has been organising the Abhiyan, wherein the ‘Dattamaladharis’ climb up the Bababudangiri hills to perform prayers at the disputed Imam Dattathreyapeet.
