Chikkamagaluru: The city has witnessed a surge in cases of teacher-student sexual exploitation, including an incident at a residential school under the jurisdiction of Kadur police station. Three individuals, namely Suresh, Shushruki Chandana, and Vinay, have been apprehended in connection with this distressing episode. Allegedly, the accused have victimized multiple children at the residential school, with Vinay being associated with a nurse involved in the exploitation.
The perpetrators drugged the students and subjected them to sexual abuse. Police investigations have revealed that these heinous acts persisted for several months. D. Suresh, a staff member at the boarding school, habitually enticed students with the promise of a paramedic course, assuring them of job prospects upon passing the exam.
He convinced the parents of the children to agree and send their daughters to Chandana. Chandana would retain the girls who came to the health center and administer a mixture of coffee, tea, and medication. During the investigation, it came to light that Chandana’s boyfriend, Vinay, was sexually abusing the children while they were in a semi-conscious state. A POCSO case has been registered against the three accused at Kadur police station.
