Hassan: A PSI examination scam accused’s elder brother ended life his life on Wednesday May 11 in Gunjevu village in Holenarasipura Taluk in Hassan District.
The deceased, identified as Vasu, is the brother of accused Manu Kumar who secured 50th rank in the PSI exam. After the scam came to light Manu Kumar was arrested by Bengaluru high grounds police on April 30 and he was also taken to his native to conduct Mahazar. Now, Manu is under the custody of CID officials.
It is said that Vasu was depressed after the arrest of Manu Kumar. Vasu dreamt of making his brother a police officer and even availed loans to give bribes. But his wishes were shattered after the scam came to light. His mother Shivamma said that the suicide of Vasu in no way was connected to the PSI scam.
“We doubt that he lost money and his brother also did not become PSI,” informed police.
A case has been filed by the Holenarasipura Rural Police, and further investigation is underway.
