Hassan: Eight persons have drowned when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus overturned and plunged into a lake at Belur in the district today, police said.
The bus was carrying about 50 passengers, police said, adding, all the eight bodies have been fished out of the Vishnusamudra lake
Meanwhile the driver is reported to be serious and the conductor of the bus is said to be safe.
Rescue and relief operations are underway involving fire brigade, police and local fishermen, they said.
