Hassan: In a tragic incident, a two-and-a-half-acre coffee plantation was gutted in fire that broke out due to a short circuit in an electric pole passing through a coffee plantation in Alur Taluk of District.

The incident took place at Bhairavanahalli Village in Hosakote Hobli. The two-and-a-half-acre coffee plantation owned by Rajkumar and Sannappa a resident of the Village, has been completely destroyed and the family, which used to depend on the coffee plantation, is now in distress and worried about how to survive.

Rajkumar and Sannappa own a total of three-and-a-half acres of land, of which Arabica Coffee was grown on about two-and-a-half acres. The coffee plants were yielding. Meanwhile, a fire broke out due to a short circuit in an electric pole passing through the middle of the coffee plantation, resulting in the complete burning of two-and-a-half acres of coffee plantation.
