Hassan: Members of the State Raitha Sangha staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding proper treatment to the patients as there has been a shortage of doctors and staff in the Taluk and Hobli Government Hospitals in the District.

“It is true that there are Government hospitals in all the taluks and centres near in the District. However, the protesters complained that there was a shortage of doctors and staff and in-patients were not getting proper treatment,” the protesters said.

“Government Hospitals have been recruited on an outsourced basis. Some of these women use abusive language with inpatients and out-patients. On Friday March 25 in Hassan Government Hospital Room No. 27 at around 11.30 am an outpatient, who had come for treatment, was verbally abused, and pushed out of the doctor’s room,” they alleged.

BPL ration cardholders get half the money. This should be exempted. BPL cardholders should be treated completely free of cost with X-ray, MRI scan, and ICU facilities too made available for free, they demanded. They also demanded that the cardholders should be treated free of cost at Government hospitals across the District.

State Raitha Sangha Vice-President Anekere Ravi, District President Babu, State Convenor Mohammed Sadiq, Kamalamma, District Secretary Vittal, Boranakoppalu Jayaram and others were present.
