Hassan: Congress Leader Banavase Rangaswamy has alleged that the followers of local MLAs are trying to gain political mileage by giving e-accounts only to BJP-backed residents of H. D. Deve Gowda Nagara.
Addressing a press conference here, he said 807 houses were constructed in H. D. Deve Gowda Nagara in 1998-99. In 2001, 537 houses were constructed in S. M. Krishna Nagara and the then Government had issued title deeds for the beneficiaries and the Municipal Corporation had mortgaged Rs. 25,000 each.
Then in 2013, the Siddaramaiah-led Government completely waived off loans on houses constructed under the Ashraya Scheme. Now, Loki and his team, who are followers of the MLA, are giving hundreds of e-assets to the residents of Deve Gowda Nagara in Thattekere Gram Panchayat limits.
They are going door-to-door, collecting e-property documents, pressurising the officials day and night in the Gram Panchayat, making e-property and distributing it door-to-door, he alleged.
He further alleged that the MLAs and their followers were indulging in such activities. He also alleged that it was not right for the supporters of the MLAs to resort to political adultery by resorting to such repression.
Rangaswamy said that he was confident of getting a ticket from the Congress Party to contest from Hassan assemzbly Constituency and hoped to get an opportunity to serve the people.
Rangaswamy, Manjanna, Mahendra, Raghu, Ganesh and Srinivas were present at the press meet.
