Hassan: Hassan District Superintendent of police Hariram Shankar has warned that police officers and staff must wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, otherwise such officers and staff will be suspended from service.
SP has warned the police officers and staff after receiving complaints from the public that some police officers are riding two-wheelers without wearing helmets. He said that if found driving a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet, the violation of traffic rules will be taken seriously and such officers and staff will be suspended from service. He said that traffic rules are being made to strictly enforce the traffic rules and arrangements are being made to issue contactless traffic challan to those who violate the traffic signal and traffic rules.
He said steps are being taken to install traffic signals at Payanna Circle, Subedar Circle and Araseikere and Channarayapatna in the District. He said that the new rule of giving contactless challan is being implemented so that a transparent billing system will be implemented for the people. Nowadays there has been a widespread complaint of auto drivers demanding more money and collecting hefty amounts from commuters. To find a solution to this problem, the public, auto owners and meeting of drivers will be called and a decision will be taken, he said.
