Hassan: MLA Preetham J. Gowda’s statement that nothing is guaranteed till the party officially announces the ticket, has come as a surprise in the political circle. The party is yet to officially announce its candidate.
He said, “If a Senior Party Leader asks me to contest from Channarayapattana or Holenarasipara Constituency, I will have to do the same. I am a disciplined soldier of the party. Even if I am not given a ticket in Hassan and given a ticket from another constituency, I will have to follow the party’s order. Though I’m confident of getting the ticket again, I have to wait till the announcement is made.”
There are instructions from senior National Leaders to win a total of 4 out of the 7 Assembly constituencies in Hassan and all the local leaders will be brought together to work for the party’s victory. Till the elections, there is a calculation that someone else will win but I want to be a winning leader on the day of counting of votes. I have faith in people’s decision, he said and expressed confidence that the BJP would win all the four seats in Hassan District this time.
