Hassan: Congress Leader Shreyas Patel said that the permission given by Holenarasipura Municipality to hold the Congress’ Prajadhvani Yatra programme on March 1 was withdrawn due to political influence by Local MLA H. D. Revanna and MP Prajwal Revanna.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday February 17, he said he had given permission when he applied to the Municipality on Wednesday February 15 to grant permission for the event at an open-air ground in Holenarasipura Town. He said “The very next day they were disrupting the event by lying that the cricket team was given permission earlier on the pretext of holding a cricket tournament,” he alleged.

The Prajadhvani Yatra has been successfully conducted in the entire State without any difficulty in any field. But in Holenarasipura Taluk, people are creating trouble with ulterior motives and doing this with political vendetta. People who want a change in Holenarasipura have already come forward to support the Congress this time, he said.

He warned that Revanna’s family, which had threatened the officials, would be taught a lesson in this election for the oppression of Revanna’s family. The programme will be held at the scheduled time and at the designated place and if there is any disturbance at the event, the MLAs and the District Administration will be directly responsible, he said.

He requested the District Administration to intervene immediately and resolve the issue and allow the programme to be held.

Vishwanath, Mujahid, Puttaraja, Sunil, Govindraj and others were present at the press meet.
