Hassan: Rs 3 Cr collected as donations at Hasanamba Temple

Hassan: The hundi counting of Sri Hasanamba and Siddeshwara Jatra Mahotsava was held Friday October 28 from morning till night. The donations collected from October 13 to 27 this year is worth more than Rs. 3 Crore.

Rs 1.77 Crore was collected from the sale of tickets and laddu prasadam. Rs. 1000 and Rs 300 were charged for direct darshan of Sri Hasanambe.

Rs 1, 80, 17, 450 from hundi has been collected. This year, more than Rs. 3 Crore has flown into the temple. Foreign currencies, gold and silver ornaments were found in the hundi. The counting of money for the donation hundis began at 8.00 am on Friday and ended by nightfall.

The counting process was carried out in a disciplined manner under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. Revenue Department Staff, Scouts and Guides activists participated in the counting process and Hassan Sub-Divisional Officer B. A. Jagadeesha, who is also the Administrative Officer of the temple, supervised the counting. First the hundis were opened and the notes of different denominations were separately bundled. Similarly, the coins were also separated. Then the counting of currency notes of each denomination was started.
