Hassan: The family of Former Minister H. D. Revanna, who considers the JD (S ) candidate from Hassan Assembly Constituency as a prestige issue, has been campaigning vigorously in Hassan Assembly Constituency for the past few days.
Former Minister H. D. Revanna along with his wife Bhavani Revanna, son Prajwal Revanna and MLC Dr. Suraj Revanna have been campaigning extensively in the Constituency for the last two to three days. On the other hand, Swaroop Prakash, who has been projected as a strong contender from Hassan Assembly Constituency, is also leading the campaign in the Constituency along with his supporters.
The move has created a heated atmosphere within the JD (S).
After Swaroop Prakash claimed to be the JD (S)’ strongest aspirant for Hassan Assembly Constituency, Revanna and family have silently wooed several of his supporters. Revanna and family have kept Swaroop away. In Hassan District, the JD (S) has proved itself to be crucial for the party.
Swaroop, however, appears to have reaped the trust and blessings of fozrmer Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy and is all set to get a ticket from Hassan Assembly Constituency in a bid to woo Revanna’s family, much to the surprise not only in the JD (S) camp but also in the public domain.
Former Minister Revanna’s family has been given a ticket, it is said and that the Former Chief Minister’s Kumaraswamy’s statement is in support of it.
The selection of the JD (S) candidate from Hassan Assembly Constituency has become a challenge for Revanna’s family.
While Swaroop Prakash’s move has come as a surprise to some, Revanna’s family has suffered a setback. Only those close to Revanna’s family are finding it unbearable.
