Hassan: Sri Siddalinga Swamiji of Gonibeedu Sheela Sampadana Matha in Bhadravathi Taluk said that Deepotsava programmes will be organised in the month of Karthika as a symbol of taking a human being from the darkness of ignorance to the light of enlightenment.
Presiding over the ‘Siddha Laksha Deepotsava’ ceremony organised as part of Karthika Month celebrations at Sukshetra Kodi Matha in Haranahalli in Arasikere Taluk of the District, the seer said that with the development of modernity, selfishness is on the rise among the human beings. “Human values have disappeared in the society and an atmosphere of unrest is being created everywhere,” he said.
“It is heartening to note that the monasteries and religious shrines are doing a great job of removing the darkness of ignorance of ‘I am, mine’ in man and giving the driving force to the co-existence of happiness, peace and equality in the society, he said.
