Coalition’s massive convention to flaunt unity to defeat BJP

Shivamogga: As the by polls get closer, the coalition parties have set the stage and seem ready to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party on their own soil.

A massive convention that was held in the NES Grounds witnessed tall leaders of the coalition on a single platform.

The platform was shared by former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, MLAs D K Shivakumar, Zameer Ahmed, former chief minister Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, actor Shivarajkumar, his wife Geeta Shivarajkumar, former MLA Shamanur Shivashankarappa and the Shivamogga Lok Sabha by poll candidate Madhu Bangarappa.

MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan sarcastically said, “Yeddyurappa resigned from the MP seat and stood for the Vidhana Sabha election during which MP Shobha Karandlaje had said that she would not speak to him if he doesn’t become the chief minister. That’s the reason they speak about demolishing the current coalition government.”

Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar said, “To keep the BJP away from power inspite of 78 seats, we have formed the government by supporting the Janata Dal (S). Here Madhu Bangarppa is not the only candidate, but along with me Mallikarjun Kharge, Siddaramaiah, Kumaraswamy too are contesting the elections.”

Geeta Shivarajkumar said, “S Bangarappa’s defeat must be converted to Madhu Bangarappa’s victory and people must feel happy about it.”

Former chief minister Siddramaiah taunting B S Yeddyurappa said, “I don’t understand how a person who was behind the bars for corruption is canvassing.”

Earlier Janardhana Reddy had criticised Siddramaiah saying that his son had died because of the trouble that he had given to the Reddys. Responding to this, Siddramaiah said, “The BJP leaders must be ashamed of themselves for such statements.”

Speaking on the occasion CM HDK said, “I have waived Rs. 45000 Crore loan already and by next month the Debt-Free letter will be given away.”

“The BJP is on a waste attempt of having this government demolished. Let it be as it is their nature.”

“Help win Madhu Bangarappa, in order to make this coalition stronger”, he requested the people of Shivamogga.
