Shivamogga: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Tuesday February 22 said that the murder of Bajrang Dal activist Harsha on the night of Sunday February 20 was an act of the “Kerala model of terror.”
He further urged that the incident be treated as an act of terror rather than an isolated incident.
Speaking to mediapersons after visiting Harsha’s parents, Surya said Harsha was a dedicated Bajrang Dal activist who lived and died for Hindutva. “Harsha was killed by growing Islamic fundamentalism in Karnataka. This is not the first time these kinds of murders have occurred in Karnataka. This is a Kerala model of terror,” he claimed.
Organisations such as the Popular Front of India (PFI), the Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI), and the Campus Front of India (CFI) are responsible for such incidents in Karnataka and other parts of the country, he said.
“My appeal to the authorities is that this is an act of terror, not a murder. Do not investigate it as murder under Section 302 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). The criminals should be charged under the Unlawful Activity Prevention Act. “We need to tell the rest of the country,” Surya remarked.
He requested that the authorities not to allow anyone to float stories about the background of the murders, as this would divert the investigation’s focus.
“These murders are not carried out for personal reasons. This was only done because Harsha was working for Hindutva’s cause. As a result, this is an act of terror rather than murder. All of these organisations have ties to other states. PFI, KFD, Campus Front of India, SDPI, and other organisations have ties to Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and Rajasthan. Those who killed Harsha and other right-wing activists were only ‘supari’ (hired) killers, while their masterminds work behind the scenes,” he added.
