Shivamogga: A girl drawn into a Facebook acquaintance to begin with, lost her life after delivering a baby exposing the fragility of virtual relationships. One does not know whether the crime episodes on television and websites incited the youth or their state of mind led them to exploit the girl beyond measure. Unwed and pregnant, she died after delivering a baby.
This incident exposes several human relationship issues and the repercussions when one is misled to be exploited by cruel elements in the society.
The innocent girl tossed frequently in what appeared to be Facebook to WhatsApp love saga, fell ill when she became pregnant. Blackmailed and sexually assaulted, the victim went into depression and finally breathed her last at Manipal Hospital. The baby she delivered is currently lying alone in the intensive care unit of Mc Gann Hospital in Shivamogga.
Meanwhile, among the four accused nabbed by women police station personnel, three are out on bail whereas the bail for one was refused.
