Shivamogga: In an incident reported from the District, a group of Bajrang Dal activists stopped a play in Anavatti Town of the District alleging that the play had a Muslim storyline.
The incident has left many shocked in the background of current growing divide on religious lines in the State and country.
The artistes were presenting Jothegiruvanu Chandira, an adaptation of English play Fiddle on the Roof. Ranga Belaku team of Shivamogga was presenting the play. The play started at 7.30 am and in the middle of the play the Bajrang Dal Activists allegedly stormed inside the auditorium and stopped the play.
The agitators shouted the slogans, Bholo Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Jai Shri Ram. They defended their decision to stop the play saying it has a Muslim storyline and that it may create social unrest.
