Shivamogga: Congress Leader Madhu Bangarappa said that Mallikarjun, a BJP worker from Soraba Taluk who died due to lack of water at a function. However, the BJP was not concerned about the party worker who died due to lack of water but busy doing politics even in death, he stressed.
Speaking to media persons, Madhu Bangarappa said that Mallikarjun, a long-time BJP worker, died during the inauguration ceremony of Shivamogga Airport and the local BJP Leaders did not go to console his family. He said, “But I had gone. I could have taken more publicity for the same if I made up my mind. But I decided to have a humane approach,” he said hitting out at the BJP.
Madhu recalled that Mallikarjun had worked in the BJP for a long time and since he belonged to our Constituency, I went to his house as a gesture of humanity. When a Congress worker died in a road accident in Chitradurga, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President went to the worker’s house in Sagar and gave a compensation of Rs. 10 Lakh. But the BJP is hesitating to stand with the family of its worker,” he said.
Madhu Bangarappa further asked why the BJP did not care when its loyal worker like they did when the Hindu activist Harsha died. He asked, “Those from every nook and corner of the country met Harsha’s family and offered condolences, why the same leaders did not stand with the family their own loyal worker today? he questioned.
