Shivamogga: Former Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson Kimmane Ratnakar alleged that the Enforcement Directorate raid in Theerthahalli was highlighted motivated by political benefits by the BJP.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that the statement on incident in Theerthahalli was a self-proclaimed one by the media. The ED had come to Theerthahalli and came to my office. In all, Rs 10 lakh was paid in advance for a building in 2015. This incident has been given a colour of raid by ED, said Ratnakar.
“A cooker too was shown in some sections of the media. Infact the BJP is cooking up political dal locally. An agreement has been signed in the name of my brother in the matter of rent of our building. The BJP might be fearful as elections are near but I am not. The BJP is now trying to portray the drama that was held in Nandita case now in cooker case too,” he said.
“Some people have reported that Kimmane’s house has been raided. My portrait has been shown along with scenes of Sharique blasting cooker on some social media channels. This is a thought-provoking situation. I haven’t run away. The people of Theerthahalli know what I am,” he added
