Shivamogga: A non-bailable warrant was issued on Wednesday October 2 for the arrest of writer and controversial writer Bhagwan in a criminal case registered at the JMFC Court in the City in the wake of the controversy over his book ‘Ram Mandir Yake Beda’.
Mahabaleshwara, a member of Kalmane Gram Panchayat in the Taluk, had filed a private case in the Court. The Court had registered a criminal case against Bhagwan under Section 295 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for hurting religious sentiments. Judge Srisaila Bhimsen Bhagade issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him after he failed to appear before the court despite being summoned by the Mysuru Superintendent of Police to appear in person before the court on Thursday November 3.
Advocate K. V. Praveen Kumar is arguing on behalf of the complainant.
