Shivamogga: DC visits MCGANN Hospital, inspects children’s health

Shivamogga: The number of students admitted to MCGANN due to ill health has risen to 108. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Selvamani visited McGANN Teaching District Hospital on Tuesday January 17 and enquired about the health of the children.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Selvamani said that the mediapersons that it has come to light that the children are unwell due to consumption of poisonous food items. He has already been treated and has been kept under observation for 24 hours. There is no danger at the moment, he said.

But till Monday January 16, only the children of the Upper Hanaswadi Residential School were enrolled. But the girls of the girls’ hostel in Bapuji Nagara have come and enrolled. Similarly, children from private schools have also been admitted to a private hospital.

While the Deputy Commissioner said that the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, several parents are giving a different reason.
