Shivamogga: Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah was criticised by BJP MLA K. S. Eshwarappa on Saturday September 10 for criticising the party’s Janaspandana programme, saying the former should first give information about the expenses incurred during Siddaramaiah’s 75th birthday celebration, Siddaramotsava.
Further, he claimed Siddaramaiah was criticising Janaspandana because he was unable to digest the responses it had received. Speaking to mediapersons laying the foundation for a commercial complex in Gandhi Nagar, he said that Rs. 75 Crore had been raised to organise Siddaramotsava.
“Siddaramaiah should explain the expenditures and name the funders of the event. Let him explain where the money went, how it was used, and how much was given to people,” he said.
Eshwarappa continued to criticise the Congress, alleging that after Siddaramotsava, the grand old party was overconfident and acting as though it had actually won the election. The BJP keeps conducting such programmes. Many people attended for PM Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Mangaluru,” he added.
