Shivamogga: In a shocking incident, a hundis were broken at Rameshwara Temple at Keladi in Sagara Taluk on the night of Friday November 25.

The thieves broke open the tile and took out five hundis, broke them and stole the money. They left the broken hundis in the Temple premises and fled.

It is estimated that there were more than Rs. 2 lakh in the hundis. The biggest lapse is that the CCTV cameras at the Temple have not been installed.

Sandeep, Director of the Temple Committee, alleged that the locals had repeatedly appealed to the officials of the Archaeological Museums and Heritage Department in this regard but to no avail.

Sagara Rural Police Station personnel, canine squad and fingerprint experts visited the spot.
