Shivamogga: ADGP (Law and Order) Alok Kumar has issued an order prohibiting two-wheelers during the night hours in response to the incidents that happened in the city on Monday August 15 and the imposition of a curfew for three days in the City.

He further said that it is against the law for two-wheeler riders to pillion-ride passengers who are younger than 40. Adults over 40 and female pillion riders are exempt from these restrictions. Further, the order stated that riding a two-wheeler during the night, from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am, is prohibited, except in case of emergency.

For security, police officers from other districts have been called. According to Alok Kumar, patrols have been increased inside the limits of the Tunganagar, Doddapet, and Vinobanagar Police Stations, while night patrols have been introduced at other stations.

The ADGP warned that those who disrupt the peace by taking the law into their hands will face strict action.
