Shivamogga: Strict action on slogans against other communities

Shivamogga: Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association, Shivamogga branch held discussion with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Selvamani and Superintendent of Police Lakshmiprasad at Media House here in the City on Friday August 26.

SP Lakshmiprasad spoke to the media about the preparations for Ganesha festival, and warned of stren action if anyone raises slogans that is related to hatred towards any other community. He said that already peace meetings have been held in three parts of Shivamogga. Peace meetings have been held at Sagar, Bhadravathi and Shivamogga. Precautionary measures too have been taken, he said.

Stating that at present there is a problem related to flex, banner and buntings, he said, “As there is a competition for the locations, yet all the places of celebrations are sensitive. The people should realise the fact that it should be put in the same place. All the Ganesha Chaturthi committees are requested to cooperate with the police, he urged.

Celebration should be done. Power deploying for us is what lies ahead. The action that was taken yesterday cannot be disclosed. But some of the important documents have been collected, he added.
