Shivamogga: The two terrorist suspects who were arrested and are suspected of having ties to the banned terrorist group ISIS have had their police custody extended by five days, till September 30. The 3rd JMFC court here on Monday September 26 extended the custody of the two accused, Maaz and Syed Yasin, which was scheduled to end on Monday.

The two were taken by Shivamogga Rural Police to McGann Hospital for a medical examination before being brought before the court.

Shivamogga SP Lakshmiprasad claimed that the extended custody will help the probe by the police. “We will also be questioning others known to the accused and to whom notices have been served,” he added. When asked about the main suspect Shariq, Lakshmiprasad said, “We have no specific information about him, but are looking for clues.” The SP made it clear that no operations had been carried out and no arrests had been made in Koppal.
