Shivamogga: Former Minister and BJP leader K. S. Eshwarappa alleged that Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President (KPCC) D. K. Shivakumar are involved in a power battle while pretending to be socialists.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday July 19 he said, despite Siddaramaiah’s socialist claims, he planned to hold a huge event to celebrate his birthday, claiming that it was organised by his fans. He alleged that in the name of his fans, Siddaramaiah is trying to gain mileage.
He claimed that although Shivakumar promised to follow the Kuvempu principles by bringing all communities together, last Monday he attended a programme of a specific community.
“He will definitely contest elections from a place which is Muslim-dominated. Otherwise, Hindus would assure Siddaramaiah’s defeat because he has betrayed them,” he said on Siddaramaiah hunting for other constituencies to contest.
In response to criticism of the GST increase, he said that the Chief Ministers of Rajasthan and Jharkhand both failed to speak out against the proposal at the GST meeting and are now criticising the government.
