In Mandya, Anbu Kumar, the district in-charge secretary, urged immediate action on rising lake water levels and compensation for homeowners affected by recent rains. During a review meeting at ZP Kaveri Hall, he highlighted that only 448 out of 968 lakes in the district are currently full despite sufficient rainfall. Kumar instructed tahsildars to investigate possible encroachments and ensure all lakes reach capacity within 15 days, emphasizing their critical role in the local water supply.

Deputy Commissioner Kumara presented data showing 448 lakes at full capacity, with varying levels in others: 132 between 75-100%, 123 between 50-75%, 122 between 25-50%, and 143 below 25%. He also discussed progress in disaster management initiatives, noting a decline in child marriages due to awareness programs.

Regarding compensation, Kumar directed tahsildars to process and distribute government aid within 48 hours for 48 rain-damaged homes, stating that 84 households from October are still awaiting payments. He set a two-day deadline for authorities to complete these payments and submit reports.

Additionally, Kumar established academic targets for students, mandating that all must pass the upcoming SSLC examinations and requesting inspections at the taluk level along with additional classes for improved success rates. ZP CEO Sheikh Tanveer Asif provided updates on the Jal Jeevan Mission, reporting 3,61,862 families connected, with 39,263 still pending.
