Mangaluru: The Ullal police have arrested four individuals, including a minor, in connection with an attempted murder on Mohammed Asif, a resident of Badaje, Kasargod. The incident took place on Friday night on National Highway 66, near Kesiroad-Uchila in Talapady village, where Asif was attacked with deadly weapons.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Annappa Swamy, also known as Manu (24), from Idya Eshwara Nagar; Sachin (24), from Padil Narla; Kushith (18), from Pajeer Padalkodi; and a minor. The attack on Asif occurred shortly after his release from jail in an unrelated case. Asif reported that he was traveling with family members from Mangaluru to Kerala when the accused assaulted him and attempted to take his life.
Following Asif’s complaint on November 9, the Ullal police registered the case and launched an investigation. The operation was led by Mangaluru South Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner of Police Dhanya N. Nayak, with Ullal Police Station Inspector Balakrishna guiding the team. The suspects were apprehended on the evening of November 11. Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing to uncover further details related to the attack.
