Mangaluru: Air India Express has announced a revised flight schedule for services operating from Mangaluru International Airport (IXE) to Sharjah and Delhi, taking into consideration the evolving geopolitical developments in the Middle East. The updated schedule will remain in effect from March 16 to March 28.
The airline stated that the changes are intended to ensure operational efficiency and maintain connectivity while adapting to the current international aviation environment. Passengers travelling during this period have been advised to carefully check the revised timings and reconfirm their flights through the official Air India Express website before departure.
Daily flights between Mangaluru and Sharjah
Under the revised schedule, Air India Express will operate daily services between Mangaluru and Sharjah throughout the temporary schedule period.
Flight IX 6057 will depart from Mangaluru International Airport at 1:25 pm (IST) and arrive at Sharjah International Airport at 4:05 pm local time. The return service, flight IX 6058, will depart Sharjah at 5:05 pm local time and reach Mangaluru at 10:30 pm (IST).
The daily service is expected to benefit a large number of passengers, particularly expatriates and business travellers commuting between coastal Karnataka and the United Arab Emirates. The Mangaluru–Sharjah sector is among the busiest international routes from the airport due to the significant presence of the coastal Karnataka diaspora in the Gulf region.
Airline officials indicated that maintaining uninterrupted connectivity to Gulf destinations remains a priority, especially during periods of uncertainty in international aviation corridors.
Variable schedule for Mangaluru–Delhi flights
While the Sharjah sector will operate daily at fixed timings, the Mangaluru–Delhi services will follow a variable schedule depending on the day of the week.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays between March 16 and March 25, flight IX 1991 will depart from Delhi at 5:15 am and arrive in Mangaluru at 8:30 am. The return flight IX 1992 will depart from Mangaluru at 9:30 am and reach Delhi at 12:25 pm.
On the remaining days of the week, Air India Express will operate flight IX 1276 from Mangaluru to Delhi. This flight will depart at 8:30 am and land in the national capital at 11:45 am.
For passengers travelling from Delhi to Mangaluru on these days, flight IX 1275 will depart from Delhi at 5:00 am and arrive in Mangaluru at 8:00 am.
The airline clarified that the adjustments are part of a temporary operational schedule and may change depending on further developments in the international aviation environment.
Advisory issued for passengers
Air India Express has advised passengers to verify the flight timings before starting their journey. Travellers are encouraged to check their flight status through the airline’s official website or customer service channels to avoid inconvenience.
Airlines often revise schedules in response to operational requirements, weather conditions, airspace regulations and geopolitical developments. In recent weeks, aviation authorities across several regions have been monitoring developments in the Middle East that could potentially affect international flight operations.
Maintaining connectivity from Mangaluru
Mangaluru International Airport serves as a crucial gateway for coastal Karnataka, connecting the region to major domestic and international destinations. Flights to Gulf countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman carry a large share of migrant workers, professionals and tourists.
Industry observers note that maintaining reliable connectivity from Mangaluru is essential for the local economy, as thousands of residents travel frequently between the region and the Middle East for employment and business.
With the revised schedule in place until March 28, Air India Express aims to ensure smooth operations while continuing to provide essential air links between Mangaluru, Sharjah and Delhi.
Passengers travelling during this period are advised to remain updated on any further changes that may be announced by the airline.
