A bike rider, identified as Tirumaleshwara, suffered serious injuries after a stag jumped onto his motorcycle in Jalakadahole on the Panja-Guttigaru road on Saturday night. The collision resulted in injuries to his hands, legs, and shoulder, prompting his admission to a hospital in Kadaba for treatment.

Forest officials quickly visited the accident site to assess the situation. This area is known for frequent sightings of wild animals, including stags, bison, and elephants, making wildlife encounters a common occurrence. Stags are particularly known for crossing the road unexpectedly, posing a risk to motorists.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers posed by wildlife on roadways; a similar accident several years ago at Kulkunda near Subrahmanya tragically claimed the life of another biker when a stag suddenly jumped in front of his vehicle.
