On the morning of August 5, a BMW traveling from Udupi to Mangaluru was engulfed in flames on the national highway near the old toll gate of NITK in Surathkal. The fire broke out suddenly, causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses described the shocking scene as the car was consumed by flames, with thick smoke rising into the sky. The fire spread rapidly, completely gutting the BMW. Fortunately, all occupants of the car managed to escape without any injuries.
Mangaluru North traffic police and Surathkal police swiftly arrived at the scene and alerted the fire brigade. Firefighters responded promptly, managing to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby vehicles.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
